The Graduate Hospital Neighborhood, also known as Southwest Center City, isbounded by South Street, Broad Street, Washington Avenue, and The Schuylkill River. This area has seen tremendous growth over the last decade, as evidenced by an abundance of new and renovated row homes, corner cafes, restaurants, and bars that have added to the other amenities in the area — including beautiful old churches, the Marian Anderson Recreation Center, and the historic Christian Street YMCA. Additionally, there are local farmers markets at Julian Abele Park, and at nearby Fitler Square and Rittenhouse Square.
In addition to our neighborhood amenities, you will be just steps away from much of what makes Philadelphia a world class city. It only a short walk to the shopping and restaurants of Rittenhouse Square, the culture and arts on Avenue of the Arts, the beautiful Schuylkill River Park and Trail where you can walk, bike, or jog to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Check out South Street for the never-ending display of youth culture, fun bars, and crazy shops. The University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University are right across the South Street bridge to the west, and just a short stroll to the east is lively atmosphere and amazing food of The Italian Market.
